The China-ASEAN Music Week 2019 kicked off Tuesday night in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
A total of 256 musicians and experts from 25 countries and regions, including 110 musicians from ASEAN countries, will hold over 40 concerts, lectures and forums from May 28 to June 3.
Indonesia, as the country of honor for this year's music festival, will hold a musical instruments exhibition, and a featured gamelan concert.
ASEAN folk music workshops from countries including Laos, Brunei, Thailand, Myanmar and Indonesia will also be held for the first time.
Founded in 2012, the annual event is a platform for art exchanges and cooperation between China and state members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
