An international cybersecurity organization on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a representative of Chinese cybersecurity industry professionals to promote closer cooperation between the two sides.
Jim Reavis, chief executive officer of the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), a leading international organization dedicated to ensuring a secure cloud computing environment, signed the MoU with Han Xiao, secretary general of the Organizing Committee of Internet Security Conference (ISC), which is to be held in the Chinese capital of Beijing in August this year.
With the MoU, the CSA will bring its summit to the ISC, which is expected to draw many top scholars from think tanks, technical experts and industry security leaders, as well as more than 30,000 visitors, Reavis said at the RSA Conference 2019, an annual five-day international cybersecurity conference kicking off here on Monday.
It will be "a wonderful collaboration" of thought leaders and experts in all forms of cybersecurity, cloud computing, internet of things that will gather together and provide great and profound insights, Reavis said of the upcoming CSA summit to be held during the ISC in Beijing.
The Beijing summit will be a "global knowledge sharing" among world leading cybersecurity enterprises and industry experts, Reavis added.
"Cloud Security Alliance has had participation from Chinese enterprises inside of our organization, literally from the beginning," he said.
"Cybersecurity is a global concern," Han said, for her part, noting that it is not limited within individual countries, "but calls for the sharing and exchanges of information and knowledge about online threats."
The cooperation between the CSA and the ISC will provide a platform for technical and knowledge exchanges between both sides, which will surely help capacity-building of Chinese professionals in the security industry, Han said.
Co-organized by the Internet Society of China and the 360 Internet Security Center, the ISC is one of the most important cybersecurity summits in China.
