A China-Germany industrial innovation and cooperation center was inaugurated Monday in Changzhou City, east China's Jiangsu Province, local authority said Tuesday.

Construction of the center began at Changzhou's Science and Education Town in 2016, with an overall facility area of around 200,000 square meters.

The local authority said the center combined industry and research and development (R&D) parks for enterprises and educational cooperation projects between China and Germany, forming a high-end industrial cluster in China's Yangtze River Delta.

Wang Quan, party secretary of Changzhou, said that Changzhou would take the center as a platform to carry out international cooperation in transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

"We will also learn and promote German vocational education experience to cultivate local technical talents," Wang said.

A China-Germany vocational education and scientific innovation service center was also launched in Changzhou Monday.

So far, nearly 150 German enterprises have invested in Changzhou in various fields like machinery, electronics and textile, according to local government.
