Beijing has held the celebration three times in the past, which has become one of the most popular Chinese New Year celebrations in Southern California. This year, for the first time, Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei province jointly presented the performance.

Lili Bosse, mayor of Beverly Hills, said the event is important to the city and hoped for further bilateral cooperation between the two sides.

The event consisted of performances with cultural characteristics of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province, including tai chi, folk music and acrobatic performances.

With support from the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles, the event was jointly hosted by the China International Culture Association, the information offices of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province, and the Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau.

A second performance and exhibitions were held on Feb. 11, with over 1800 audiences in attendance.
