Foreigners take part in event greeting Spring Festival in China's Zhejiang

More than 40 foreigners were invited to experience traditional events greeting the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year.

Qingtian county in Zhejiang's Lishui city, renowned for its large population living and working abroad, is going to hold a grand cultural feast for international people and overseas Chinese during this upcoming Chinese New Year.

The event, set to begin on Feb 9, is jointly organized by the Information Office of Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, Zhejiang Radio & TV Group, the Information Office of Lishui Municipal People's Government, Qingtian government and ZTV-World.

Foreigners and overseas Chinese will be invited to take part in the traditional customs in the county such as fish-shaped lantern dance, puppet show, writing couplets and cooking local food.

On Feb 11, an international Spring Festival gala is going to amaze the audience from home and abroad with assorted performances. In addition, people will celebrate the Lantern Festival on March 1 to conclude the 20 day long cultural feast.

A TV show recording a Ghanaian family's days in Qingtian will be broadcasted during the Lantern Festival. They will do what locals do during the festival and experience the most traditional festivity in the county.
