Stricter supervision

In 2015, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council jointly issued the Opinions on Accelerating Ecological Progress. By now, a legal system pivoting on energy conservation and environmental protection has been formed, comprising 32 laws, 48 administrative regulations, and 85 departmental rules of the State Council.

A public 12369 hotline for reporting environmental problems has been opened to encourage wider participation in supervision. Over 73,000 cases have been reported through the hotline so far.
