Shenzhen will add two more high-speed railway stations — Luohu North Station and an upgraded Shenzhen Station — in the near future.

After the development of the new stations, Shenzhen will boast a total of six high-speed railway stations, including the preexisting Shenzhen North Station, Futian Station, Guangmingcheng Station, and Pingshan Station.

According to the 14th five-year plan on Luohu’s transportation development, the Luohu North Station will be built as a comprehensive transport hub in the region, and the upgraded Shenzhen Station, which is also located in Luohu, will be an important hub for the national high-speed network, connecting Shenzhen with Ganzhou and Xiamen in neighboring Jiangxi and Fujian provinces, respectively.

The 436-kilometer Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway will be put into operation in December.

Meanwhile, the construction of the 126km Shenzhen-Shanwei Railway will start before the end of this year. The railway is expected to open to passengers in 2025.

The construction project of the Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway will also commence before the end of 2021, and it is expected to be put into operation in 2025.

The construction of subways and other urban transport and supporting infrastructures are simultaneously underway in areas adjacent to the Luohu North Station and Shenzhen Station projects in the district.
