Beijing rolls out cultural activities for Double 11 shopping festival

​Amid the Double 11 shopping festival, Beijing rolled out a set of cultural activities, aiming to further boost the city's consumer spending in the cultural sector and stimulate market vitality.

Amid the Double 11 shopping festival, Beijing rolled out a set of cultural activities, aiming to further boost the city's consumer spending in the cultural sector and stimulate market vitality.

A livestreaming event kicked off in the Chinese capital on Tuesday, as part of the city's reading campaign. Additionally, major bookstores have launched a series of promotional events to encourage reading. Influencers in the cultural sector also took people to visit unique bookstores in Beijing such as Sanlian and Hanfenlou via livestreaming. 

In addition to the reading campaign, a series of Peking opera activities will be rolled out too, including online livestreaming events and offline immersive theaters.

Also during the Double 11 shopping festival, stores will hand out more coupons and discounts to further stimulate consumer spending in museums, bookstores, theaters, and so on.
