The program, launched jointly by the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation and private platforms including the Alibaba Foundation, aims to provide supplementary medical insurance to people aged between 18 and 60 from poor households across the country.

By the end of October, about 307 million yuan (about US$46.8 million) had been invested in the program, which had covered 80 counties in 12 provincial-level regions and settled 134,616 insurance claims, according to the briefing.
