China has lifted more than 6.74 million disabled people out of poverty by the end of 2019, accounting for over 93 percent of the country's total number of poor people with disabilities, according to authorities.

Poverty among disabled people in eight provinces including Jiangsu has been eliminated by the end of last year, showed data released at a video teleconference by the China Disabled Persons' Federation, the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

The per capita net income of poor families with disabilities increased from about 2,776 yuan (US$391.8) in 2015 to about 8,726 yuan in 2019, with their income structure also improved.

Supervisors will be dispatched to the six provinces that each still has more than 30,000 disabled people living in poverty, the authorities said. Subsidies and supporting policies will also be put in place.

Existing problems will be investigated and solved to help the remaining 479,000 disabled people shake off poverty.
