The construction of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) headquarters was completed in Beijing on Thursday.
As one of the major construction projects in Beijing, the AIIB headquarters is located in Beijing Olympic Park in the city’s eastern Chaoyang district. The massive office building is made up of five wings with a total floor space of 390,000 square meters.
The completion of the AIIB headquarters will better help Beijing become an international exchange center and financial center, and further upgrade the industrial structure of the capital city.
The building has a lobby with an 80-meter-high ceiling and seven atriums, providing balanced lighting and wide views for all working areas. The headquarters is also equipped with advanced sunshade and ventilation systems and other smart operational and management technologies.
The construction of the AIIB headquarters began on Sept. 23, 2016. AIIB, launched in Beijing in October 2014, is a multilateral development bank that aims to support infrastructure building in the Asia-Pacific region.
