The two-day event, coinciding with China's Mid-Autumn Festival, invited over 400 people from around the world who were either born in Quzhou or had taken an interest in its development.

During the event, Xu Wenguang, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Quzhou Municipal Committee, introduced the city's recent developments in urbanization, rural revitalization, talent building, urban governance and improving its business environment. He thanked attendees for their continued contributions to the city's socio-economic development.

Xu hoped that more people of Quzhou origin could contribute to their hometown by investing or introducing more advanced technologies and expertise in various fields.

The event also honored 46 Quzhou-born elite who had facilitated investment programs in the city or who provided other important contributions to Quzhou's development.

Agreements for a total of 18 new projects were signed, estimated to be worth around 9.03 billion yuan (US$1.28 billion).

Located in the western part of Zhejiang province, the city is a national-level historical city with abundant tourism resources, including numerous cultural sites and beautiful natural scenery. In recent years, Quzhou has been aiming to build itself into a garden city with a focus on tourism, high-tech industries and the digital economy.

With the support and contribution of all Quzhou people, the city was bound to have a bright future, Xu concluded.
