The Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China signed an agreement Wednesday with the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports to cooperate in preparations for the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics 2022.
Ni Huizhong, director of the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, and Zhao Wen, director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports, jointly signed the cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, the two authorities will focus on figure skating, short-track speed skating, alpine skiing and six other projects, and carry out extensive cooperation in team building, talent training, scientific and technological assistance, event organization, and other aspects.
Gao Zhidan, deputy head of the General Administration of Sport of China, said that the Winter Sports Management Center has advantages in preparation for competitive sports events and scientific training, while the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports has a good foundation as well as a wide development space in terms of talent training and hosting of the world's top ice and snow competitions. The agreement will allow the two authorities to further carry out comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in preparing for the Winter Olympics and developing ice and snow sports.
Zhang Jiandong, vice mayor of Beijing, said that the joint construction and cooperation between the two authorities will speed up the development and innovation in Beijing in the field of competitive ice and snow concepts, techniques and tactics, and physical training. He also said that the cooperation will take root in practice and bear fruitful results, therefore making contributions to the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022.
This year, Beijing will host the finals of the Curling World Cup, the Ski Jumping World Cup, and other high-level international events, hence better preparing for training of the Chinese national team.
