On Dec. 13, the Exit and Entry Administration of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau opened three more self-service venues supplementing the existing self-service hall in Tongzhou district. This includes a 24-hour self-service hall in Dongcheng district.

The round-the-clock self-service hall is located in the reception hall of the Exit-Entry Administration of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau. Applicants can obtain endorsement of exit-entry permits for travel to and from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, obtain exit and entry documents, and check the data bank of personal exit and entry records.

Users of the new service will have to swipe their ID cards to enter the self-service hall.

Applicants should bring valid permits for endorsement and use a mobile payment service to make the necessary payment. The process can take less than one minute.

To collect exit and entry documents, applicants should bring an application receipt and valid identification document. Documents that can be collected this way include passport and exit-entry permit for travelling to and from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

To check the exit and entry records, applicants should be at least 16 years old, and should come in person with a valid identification document.

In addition, reception halls in Chaoyang district and Fengtai district have both set up self-service zones with long opening hours, where applicants can have exit-entry permits for travelling to and from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan endorsed and collect exit and entry documents.

The self-service zone located on Nanmofang Road, Chaoyang district, opens from 17:00 to 24:00 on working days, and from 9:00 to 24:00 on weekends and statutory holidays, while the one located on Fengguan Road, Fengtai district, offers service from 8:00 to 24:00 every day.

Applicants can only collect documents in the hall where the application was originally made.

These self-service spots are seen as especially helping satisfy applicant’s needs during weekends and holidays. The Exit-Entry Administration is determined to continue offering highly-efficient and convenient exit and entry services with innovative moves, a police officer of the authority said.
