The Zhongguancun artificial intelligence (AI) sci-tech park will be built in the capital city's western Mentougou District this year, Beijing Daily reported on Jan.16.
To be located at the western end of Chang'an Avenue in Mentougou New Town and near the Liyuanzhuang Station of Metro Line S1, the AI park will cover an area of 54.87 hectares. The park aims to attract 400 enterprises and establish an annual output value of 50 billion yuan (US$7.8 billion).
The developer of the park, a company of Zhongguancun Development Group, will seek partnership with Chinese and overseas universities, research institutes, and large companies to establish various research centers in the park, including a national-level artificial intelligence lab.
In addition, the park will provide technological infrastructures such as the fifth generation mobile network, supercomputing center and cloud services. In cooperation with key companies, it will also set up a data-sharing platform covering the fields of transportation, medical care, and education.
The industrial system of the AI park will include big data, cloud computing, and the internet of things as the basic industries, and voice, visual and biological recognition technologies and deep learning as the core technologies. Meanwhile, "intelligence plus" -- a service industry based around AI capabilities -- will play a major role in the park's future.
