In pics: Beijing's new airport starts to take shape

The roof of the terminal of Beijing's new airport will be completed by the end of this year.

Beijing's new airport in Daxing District is located 46 kilometers south of the city center. With four runways and a terminal covering 700,000 square meters, the airport is designed to reach an annual capacity of 72 million passengers and 2 million tons of cargo by 2025, and to eventually handle as many as 100 million passengers each year.
