Shanghai and Prague have inked a deal to cooperate in the fields of film and television as China's Belt and Road Initiative gains steam.

The deal, signed on May 17 in Shanghai, will see Shanghai Media Group and Medea Group from the Czech Republic work together in the making, broadcast and promotion of films and television programs about the Belt and Road Initiative. Medea Group is the biggest private media group in the Czech Republic, owning TV stations, TV program-making departments and 11 magazines.

Czech President Milos Zeman said that cooperation with Beijing and Shanghai will contribute to Czech-China relations under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Several Shanghai hospitals also signed agreements Wednesday to cooperate with their counterparts in Prague in the fields of aviation medical rescue and medical staff training.
