The planned Beijing-Xiongan intercity railway will be 92.78 kilometers long and pass through five stations, according to an environmental assessment report issued by the China Railway Design Corporation.

Construction for the railway will start in early March, with the plan to complete the project in two years by the end of February 2020. Once completed, the Xiongan Station would become the transportation hub in Xiongan New Area and integrated with the national high-speed rail network.

The railway has been modified from the previous Beijing-Bazhou intercity railway after Xiongan New Area was named a national-level district last April. The five stations along its route include the Huangcun Station, the New Airport Station, the Gu'an East Station, the Bazhou North Station, and the Xiongan Station.

Trains running on the Liying-New Airport line and the New Airport-Xiongan line are designed to operate at 250 and 350 kilometers per hour respectively. The total investment of these railways will be 33.38 billion yuan (US$5.22 billion).

The report also unveiled the exact location of the Xiongan Station to be in northeast of Xiongxian County. The station is around eight kilometers away from the town, and will connect with multiple high-speed railways.
