Guo Weimin briefs foreign companies in China on fifth plenary session of 19th CPC Central Committee

More than 180 representatives of foreign enterprises and international public relations companies in China attended the meeting.

Ning Jizhe, deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission and commissioner of the National Bureau of Statistics, and Wang Shouwen, deputy minister of commerce, also spoke at the event.

The speakers introduced China's achievements since the beginning of the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020). They also spoke on the main content and far-reaching influences of the proposals for formulating the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035.

They emphasized that China will continue opening up further and speed up developing a new developmental paradigm, so as to offer more investment opportunities to international entrepreneurs.

The representatives conducted in-depth discussions on the opportunities and challenges that China's new developmental paradigm will bring to foreign companies, and how they can better engage in China's innovative development.

They said that the meeting helps foreign companies in China to understand the guiding principles of the plenary session as well as China's development goals and approaches, so they will seize new opportunities and share in the big market here with stronger confidence.

The meeting was guided by the State Council Information Office, and organized by the China Public Relations Association and China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment.
