The 11th edition of a high-level China-Mongolia media forum was held Thursday via video link, highlighting media cooperation against the backdrop of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The forum that was attended by more than 100 representatives from the media sector of the two countries issued a declaration on media exchanges and cooperation between China and Mongolia in the new decade.

Addressing the forum, Xu Lin, head of China's State Council Information Office, called for more concerted efforts to deepen the pragmatic cooperation between the two countries' press circles following the impact of COVID-19.

Xu noted that cooperation should be developed with an all-rounded and multi-layered approach.

Damdin Tsogtbaatar, a member of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, said there is already a consensus between the two sides that cooperation is the only choice to win the battle against the pandemic.

A documentary chronicling the cooperation between the two countries in the fight against COVID-19 was screened at the meeting and representatives from major Chinese media organizations shared their views.

Initiated in 2010, the forum has become an important platform for the media of both nations to advance exchanges and cooperation.
