Guo Weimin, vice minister of the State Council Information Office of China (SCIO) met with an Iranian delegation headed by Mohammad Jafar Safi, director general of the Foreign Media Department of Iran's Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, in Beijing on Nov. 15.

During the meeting, Guo gave a briefing on the 19 National Congress of the Communist Party of China. He also spoke on expectations that media agencies of China and Iran can strengthen communication and bonds further, promote the exchange and cooperation to blaze a new trail in news media, and make continuous efforts and contributions to enhance the friendship between the people in the two countries.

Shen Weixing, deputy editor-in-chief of Guangming Daily, and Chen Yao, vice director general of the International Liaison Bureau of the SCIO, attended the meeting.
