Jiang Jianguo, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and minister of the State Council Information Office, addressed the event.

In face of the difficulties in China-ROK relations, the two sides should, as pointed out by President Xi Jinping during the meeting with his Korean counterpart, work together to steer the bilateral relationship to the right path of healthy development, said Jiang.

He suggested that the focus of improved bilateral ties is to increase political trust, which can be achieved through more cooperation in economy, trade and culture as well as people-to-people exchanges.

Jiang also hoped that news outlets of the two countries should increase exchange and cooperation, deliver more sensible voices to the general public, and contribute to the improved relationship of the two neighbors.
