The Second Overseas Chinese New Media Forum opens in Chengdu

Guo Weimin, vice minister of the State Council Information Office, spoke Tuesday at the Second Overseas Chinese New Media Forum in Chengdu, calling on overseas Chinese new media to better present China to the world under the B&R Initiative.

The Second Oversea Chinese New Media Forum opened Tuesday in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Themed "The Belt and Road and Overseas Chinese New Media," the forum received more than 100 representatives of overseas Chinese new media from 42 countries and regions, as well as about 200 overseas Chinese community leaders, scholars, and experts.

Guo Weimin, vice minister of the State Council Information Office, said in his speech that overseas Chinese media organizations have been playing a vital role in presenting China to the world. Under the Belt and Road Initiative, media organizations in these countries along the Belt and Road should seize the opportunity to promote cooperation and exchanges in a bid to let China's stories and voice be better heard in the world.
