The Hong Kong liquefied natural gas (LNG) project started trial operation recently, according to its general contractor Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd., which is based in China's Tianjin.
As the largest offshore energy infrastructure project in Hong Kong, China, it consists of a dual-berth offshore LNG terminal, a land LNG terminal and two submarine pipelines.
It is capable of accommodating two of the world's largest floating storage and regasification units (FSRU) or LNG carriers at the same time.
It is expected to increase the use of clean energy in Hong Kong and optimize the energy structure of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
