Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Tuesday talked over phone with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Li said that China and Vietnam are a community with a shared future of strategic significance and share a special friendship of "comrades and brothers," adding that their good neighborliness is of paramount importance and in line with the interest of both countries.

China, Li said, stands ready to work with Vietnam to turn the ambitious blueprint outlined by General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong into reality and jointly push for more practical outcomes in China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperation.

Li underscored that the two sides should promote the high-quality synergy of the Belt and Road Initiative with the "Two Corridors, One Economic Belt," and work together to build a system of industrial and supply chains that is stable, smooth, mutually beneficial and win-win.

China and Vietnam should continue to take concrete actions in promoting stability and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific and jointly build a peaceful, safe and secure, prosperous, beautiful and amicable home of China and ASEAN, Li said.

He added that the two sides should stay committed to managing differences through dialogue and consultation, and create together a sound external environment for the development of the two countries.

For his part, Pham Minh Chinh said that the Vietnam-China traditional friendship enjoys a long history, and the CPV, the Vietnamese government and people will always remember the tremendous help provided by the CPC, the Chinese government and people for Vietnam's struggle for national independence and liberation and the promotion of national economic and social development.

Noting that developing the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership is a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy, the Vietnamese prime minister said currently, bilateral relations are standing at a new historical starting point and facing important opportunities for development.

Vietnam, he said, stands ready to work with China to strengthen political communication and strategic mutual trust, expand practical cooperation in various fields, strengthen friendly exchanges at all levels, properly handle differences, advance communication and coordination in multilateral fields, and advance bilateral relations to a new high.
