The Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) held their 10th theory seminar on Tuesday via video link, exchanging experience gained in the development of new approaches to social governance in the era of informatization.

Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the seminar.

Li said that the leaders of both parties reached a consensus to comprehensively promote the development of bilateral relations between the two parties and countries, and that the 20th CPC National Congress last October mapped out a new blueprint for the improvement of the social governance system.

Noting that informatization brought new opportunities and challenges to social governance, Li said that the enhancement and development of new approaches to social governance has always been an important position in governing the country for the CPC.

To modernize the national governance system and capacity, the CPC fully implements the people-centered philosophy of development, continues to develop new concepts, systems, mechanisms and methods for social governance, strives to strengthen public participation and rule of law in social governance, and makes such governance smarter and more specialized, he said.

Sisay Leudetmounsone, Politburo member of the Party Central Committee of the LPRP, a member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat and head of the LPRP Organisation Commission, expressed willingness to strengthen exchanges of governance experience with the Chinese side to promote bilateral relations between the two parties and countries.
