The first Image Possibilities Coproduction Plan, a project sponsoring the production of documentaries on China, recently selected 62 proposals for production.
The project aims to sponsor Chinese and international filmmakers for collaboration on documentaries about China's stories in the new era through camera lens and new media technologies.
The proposals cover subjects such as rural revitalization, ecological progress, fine traditional Chinese culture, a human community with a shared future, and sustainable social value.
Over 200 organizations, including local publicity departments, central publicity and cultural agencies, universities and colleges, and film and television organizations in China and abroad submitted proposal entries.
A training workshop with well-known directors and experts will be offered to teams with winning proposals, and their documentaries are expected to be screened in 2023.
The project is co-hosted by China International Communications Group, Discovery Channel, Fujian Provincial Administration of Radio and Television, Fujian Media Group, Tencent's Sustainable Social Value Organization, and video-streaming platform Bilibili under the guidance of the State Council Information Office, the Cyberspace Administration of China, and the National Radio and Television Administration.
