North China's port city Tianjin vowed to step up efforts to boost technological innovation and industrial upgrading, and further promote the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, which has seen solid progress, according to Zhang Gong, mayor of Tianjin.
Tianjin will take further steps to promote technological innovation coordination and industrial system integration in the region, Zhang told a press conference Wednesday.
Efforts will be made to push forward technological innovation and industrial upgrading as well as the development of new quality productive forces, while working to build a regional center for application of scientific and technological advances, according to Zhang.
Zhang said the city also plans to expand institutional opening-up in areas such as technology finance, finance lease, shipping service, exhibition service and cross-border data flow.
Also at the conference, Liu Guiping, executive vice mayor of Tianjin, said the metropolis will accelerate efforts to develop itself into a city as an international consumption center.
