China ranked first globally in terms of production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) for the eighth straight year in 2022. The country's NEV output and sales rose 96.9% and 93.4% from the previous year to 7.06 million and 6.89 million respectively in 2022, said an official of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology at a press conference Wednesday.
