Chen Liang, an advanced technician from Wuxi Micro Research Co Ltd in Wuxi's Binhu district, was honored as a national model worker at a gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing Nov. 24.

Chen is one of 11 people from Wuxi to receive the highest national honor for workers in recognition of their hard work, extraordinary achievements and outstanding contributions to their respective fields.

For 17 years, Chen has been dedicated to his work and refined craftsmanship. He has overcome many technical problems in the field of processing such as the high-precision compound processing technique for electron gun molds.

Outstanding skills have brought Chen a number of national and provincial awards and honorary titles, including the China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award, the Most Beautiful Worker in China, and Jiangsu Craftsman.

As a local leader in advanced manufacturing skills, Chen has also helped train more than 30 qualified technicians in Jiangsu. He was also named "Jiangsu Province Young and Middle-aged Expert Making Outstanding Contribution".
