Karl Marx exhibition in Beijing receives 2 million visitors

A three-month exhibition to mark the 200th anniversary of Karl Marx's birth, which closed Sunday, has received more than 2 million visitors, according to the organizers.

A three-month exhibition to mark the 200th anniversary of Karl Marx's birth, which closed Sunday, has received more than 2 million visitors, according to the organizers.

The number of visitors increased month by month, reaching 36,800 visitors daily in July, according to the National Museum of China where the exhibition was held.

The exhibition, themed "The Power of Truth", features Marx's life, sinicized Marxism and Marxism-themed contemporary art. On display were more than 100 manuscripts by Marx, Engels and Lenin, more than 900 books, 150 photos, 70 Marxism-themed art pieces and six sculptures.
