China's road logistics price index edged up in the week from Dec. 4 to 8 amid increasing demand in the market, industry data showed.
The index came in at 1,039.57 points during the period, up 0.14 percent from the previous week, according to a survey jointly conducted by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and the Guangdong Lin'an Logistics Group.
The sub-indices of all types of vehicles logged a mild week-on-week increase over the period. The reading for full truckload logistics price, which primarily measures bulk commodity and regional transportation, edged up 0.15 percent on a weekly basis to 1,041.05 points.
The survey attributed the growth of the price index last week to a modest increase in road logistics demand along with stable transport supply.
It predicted that the index would likely drop slightly amid fluctuations or rebound in the next stage.
