The 25th Beijing Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium kicked off Wednesday, and nine projects with a total value of US$9.2 billion were signed on the first day.
The projects cover fields including medicine and health, culture and education, the digital economy, scientific and technological services, information services, and smart logistics.
The event held in Beijing and Hong Kong brought together participants from government departments, international business associations, multinational companies, leading companies, and business leaders from Beijing and Hong Kong.
Three important activities, including a summit, a memorandum signing ceremony, and a major project signing ceremony, will be held. Nine themed activities in three areas, including service sector opening-up, innovative cooperation, and the digital economy, will be carried out.
In addition, the event will invite well-known Hong Kong companies to visit businesses, and will send a delegation to Hong Kong for investment discussions and exchanges from Dec. 26 to 30.
