Guo noted that since China began the reform and opening-up nearly 40 years ago, it has developed markedly and contributed its wisdom to world development through its successful practice. Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa and plays a vital role in the economic and social development across the continent. Therefore, the two countries could further deepen their cooperation on key African issues, as well as work together to achieve common development.
Guo said Chinese and Nigerian media should work to document the stories of the two peoples so as to help them understand each other better and create a strong bridge.
He encouraged media professionals of the two countries to carry out exchanges more often, including visits for research. Moreover, media in China and Nigeria should maintain an objective tone in their reporting and stick to the common interests of developing countries.
Guo also encouraged Nigerian media professionals to cover the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
