“Experience China in Finland 2017” opened in the Finnish Capital of Helsinki on June 29 to introduce Chinese culture to the north Europe country.

The event, which will last till July 3, is co-organized by the State Council Information Office and the Chinese Embassy in Finland. It features a series of exhibitions and virtual reality interactive experience to demonstrate Chinese art and culture in a multidimensional way.
Speaking on the opening ceremony of the event, Cui Yuying, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and vice minister of the State Council Information Office, explained that the event is to implement the consensus made between the two countries’ heads of state on increasing people-to-people exchanges during President Xi’s visit in April this year.
It is also a “gift” from China’s arts circle to celebrate Finland’s Centennial of Independence, said Cui.

“Experience China” event will give Finnish people an opportunity to experience the splendid Chinese culture up close and is bound to bring new vigor to China-Finland relations, said Chen Li, Chinese ambassador to Finland.
Hundreds of people from various circles in Finland attended the opening ceremony in the Helsinki Music Center and thousands more enjoyed Chinese acrobatic show afterwards.
