Li Shulei, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), joined a deliberation of the government work report on Sunday with his fellow deputies from Jiangxi province at the first session of the 14th National People's Congress, China's national legislature.

Li, who is a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, articulated his support for this year's government work report.

He called on people working in publicity to follow Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as their guides to action, implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, boost public confidence in development, and promote cultural prosperity.

Speaking to NPC deputies from Jiangxi, the location of the Jinggang Mountains where the CPC established its first revolutionary base, Li encouraged them to promote the revolutionary spirit of the Jinggang Mountains — a spirit that values faithfulness, perseverance, reason and the people — and better protect cultural heritage and China's revolutionary relics.
