Cui Yuying, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), vice minister of the State Council Information Office and vice director of China Society for Human Rights Studies, addressed the seminar.

In her speech, Cui said China is a country that loves, cherishes and advocates peace. She said China stayed committed to an independent foreign policy of peace, first proposed the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and unswervingly followed the path of peaceful development.

She encouraged human rights researchers to raise the awareness of the importance of people's right to peace, establish a Chinese discourse and promote China's right to peace in the world.

Nearly 50 scholars from various universities and human rights institutions attended the seminar.
