"The books have been taken away from the table very quickly," said Yuan Jing, an official with the media center, adding that foreign journalists are especially interested in the book by the Chinese president.
Over 2,000 journalists from media outlets around the world have registered to cover the event.
Yuan said the event organizers initially prepared 300 copies of the books in Chinese, English and Russian languages, but they could not meet the popular demand. "So we contacted the publishing house and increased the number to 900."
The first and second volume of Xi's books were published in 2014 and 2017 respectively and have been translated to and printed in multiple languages.
