The Ukrainian edition of the first volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" was released Wednesday at a launch ceremony in Kiev, capital of Ukraine, on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal sent a congratulatory letter to the event, and Xu Lin, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and minister of the State Council Information Office (SCIO) of China, delivered a speech via video.
In the letter read by Ukrainian Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov, Shmyhal congratulated the CPC on its centenary, and said that the book will help the Ukrainian side further understand and learn from China's experience in state governance.
Xu said in his speech that the three volumes of the book demonstrate the CPC's philosophy of putting people first and adhering to peaceful development, and open up a "window of thought" for the international community to understand the CPC and China.
The event was co-hosted by China SCIO, China International Publishing Group, and the Chinese Embassy in Ukraine, and was joined by nearly 100 people from both countries.
