A symposium was held in Beijing Monday to share the experience of translating and publishing the second volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" in five ethnic minority languages.

The translation of the book in Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur, Kazak and Korean will help people of the ethnic minority groups better understand Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, according to a press release issued after the meeting held by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the National Ethnic Affairs Commission.

Through the books, people of the ethnic minority groups will learn the Party leadership's latest instructions and enhance their understanding about the CPC Central Committee's governance philosophy and strategies, the press release said.

More than 120 officials, translators, publishers and representatives of readers attended the meeting. They also discussed how to study and promote the books.

The participants agreed that the books are a valuable gift to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and a key material for the ongoing Party education campaign themed "staying true to our founding mission."

Divided into 17 sections by topic, the book contains a compilation of 99 of Xi's spoken and written works from Aug. 18, 2014 to Sept. 29, 2017, along with 29 related photographs.
