The Tajik edition of the first volume of "Xi Jinping: the Governance of China" was published at a ceremony in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan on Tuesday, ahead of the Chinese president's official visit to the country.

Dushanbe also hosted a seminar on the national governance systems in China and Tajikistan on Wednesday. A total of 200 people from China and Tajikistan attended the event.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon sent congratulatory messages to both events, noting that the publication of President Xi's book can help Tajik readers better understand his thoughts on socialism, as well as China's path towards its current state in connection with the world.

Wang Xiaohui, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said the publishing of "Xi Jinping: the Governance of China" in Tajikistan will offer locals insight into Chinese people's thoughts on governance and economic development, which will promote bilateral communication on national governance.

"It will help deepen mutual understanding between peoples from China and Tajikistan, and enhance the cooperation between the two countries under the Belt and Road Initiative," Wang added.

In his speech, Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Liu bin emphasized that China-Tajikistan relations are at their best stage in history. The publication of the book will build a new bridge for bilateral relations and consolidate political mutual trust.

According to Liu, it is also expected to strengthen the bilateral cooperation in various fields, which is mutually beneficial and will boost the two countries' connectivity and friendship.

During the events, the two countries also signed an agreement on film co-productions.

At the invitation of Tajik President Rahmon, from June 14 to 16, President Xi will attend the fifth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Dushanbe and pay a state visit to the country.
