Foreign political and business leaders participating in the 2017 Global Fortune Forum in Guangzhou have hailed Chinese President Xi Jinping's book on state governance as a "strong explanation" of China's rise, noting that the book will promote Chinese dreams around the globe.

"I think the book is quite important given the significant rise of China and its re-emergence as a global power. People need to understand what the priorities are of the leadership of the Communist Party of China, as well as their future intentions," Andrew John Robb, former Australian Trade Minister, told People's Daily Online.
"It's not only about [China's] economic management and trade, but also other issues, and Xi's book is a good contribution to [this cause]," he added.
Published in both Chinese and English on Nov. 7, the second volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" is also in the process of being translated and published in other languages including French, Russian, and Spanish. The 566-page book contains excerpts from 79 speeches, talks, and interviews by Xi, along with a rich assortment of photographs, according to Xinhua.
The second volume depicts the practices of the Communist Party of China Central Committee with Xi at the core in uniting and leading Chinese people to uphold and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics in a new era. It also reflects the development and main contents of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
Many foreign participants of the 2017 Global Fortune Forum noted that the new book provides Chinese wisdom and solution for developing a community with a shared future for mankind, as well as in promoting peace and development.
"In China we see stability, we see a long-term approach. As Xi said, China needs socialism with Chinese characteristics, and in the future we will see more Chinese influence in the world. For instance, the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as new institutions established under the Chinese leadership, such as Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and others. I think China is taking a very benign approach to globalization, and it is a new force of globalization," Frank-Jürgen Richter, Chairman of Horasis, a Switzerland-based think tank, told People's Daily Online.
According to Richter, following the retreat of the US in the international arena of globalization, China is likely to call for a multilateral system based on trust, friendship, and dialogue.
"I personally live in Switzerland, a small country, I prefer the Chinese approach compared to the current US one. We had American dream a century ago, when people went to US to realize their dreams. China is not only focusing on its own people, but also developing an international culture," he said, adding that the Chinese dream is more like a global dream, "which everybody can join in."
The first volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" has sold 6.6 million copies in 24 languages around the world since it was published in 2014.
