Conservation of Marine Eco-Environment
The oceans breed life and connect the whole world. They are essential to human survival and development. The marine eco-environment provides the basic living space for marine life, and any change of the marine eco-environment may lead to changes of the entire ecosystem and biological resources.
China has a vast area of sea territory, which serves as its blue granary and a strategic space for high-quality development.
Xi Jinping has more than once talked about the goal of turning China into a strong maritime nation, and called for cherishing, understanding and managing the ocean, and including marine eco-environmental conservation in the overall plan for ocean development. He suggested paying equal attention to development and conservation and to pollution prevention and control and eco-environmental restoration, developing and utilizing marine resources in a rational, science-based way, protecting marine biodiversity, and continuing to address ocean pollution, so as to maintain the ocean's reproductive capacity, provide green, safe sea products for the people, and leave them turquoise seas, blue skies and clean beaches.
海洋生态环境与保护
海洋孕育生命、联通世界、促进发展，对于人类社会生存和发展具有重要意义。海洋生态环境是海洋生物生存和发展的基本条件，生态环境的任何改变都有可能导致生态系统和生物资源的变化。
中国是海洋大国，海洋是中国人民赖以生存的“第二疆土”和“蓝色粮仓”，是中国高质量发展的战略要地。中共十八大以来，习近平多次在讲话中谈及海洋强国建设，要求关心海洋、认识海洋、经略海洋，把海洋生态文明建设纳入海洋开发总布局之中，坚持开发和保护并重、污染防治和生态修复并举，科学合理开发利用海洋资源，保护海洋生物多样性，持续加强海洋环境污染防治，维护海洋自然再生产能力，让人民群众吃上绿色、安全、放心的海产品，享受到碧海蓝天、洁净沙滩。
