During the past winter, Hebei held a series of “Happy Chinese New Year 2018” celebrations as a way to present the northern Chinese province to the world. From February to March, artists from Hebei brought a wide variety of shows to countries such as Belgium, Croatia, Russia, Thailand, and the U.S. Famous for its Yanzhao culture, Hebei showcased its unique regional features through folk music, dancing, acrobatics, the Hebei Clapper Opera, the ancient color tricks, and other performances.

Li Li, director general of the publicity bureau of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee, said that Hebei will actively carry out cultural exchange activities worldwide. She stressed the importance of seizing opportunities, such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, the planning and construction of the Xiongan New Area, and the co-hosting of the 2022 Winter Olympics. “We should utilize those opportunities to better publicize Hebei province,” Li said. “By presenting the ‘Happy Chinese New Year’ celebration in those countries, we seek to further promote Hebei’s culture and continuously strengthen international cultural cooperation.”
