From May 29 to 30, the State Council Information Office (SCIO) organized a group of nearly 70 journalists to cover developments in technological and industrial innovation in Beijing. The group included reporters from media outlets in countries such as the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Brazil, India, and Japan.

A press briefing was held on May 30. Jin Wei, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China Beijing Municipal Committee and vice mayor of Beijing, briefed the media members and answered questions.
