Public invited to submit short films on socialist values

A short film competition on socialist core values was launched on April 1.

The third session of a short film competition, themed on socialist core values, started inviting public submissions on April 1. The competition is sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the Office of the Central Leading Group for Cyberspace Affairs, and the Central Studio of News Reels Production. The competition aims to popularize socialist core values in a vivid manner and showcase the new era and new practices.

The competition invites the public to submit 5-minute, 15-minute and 30-minute short dramas, documentaries, animated films, and features with the themes of socialism with Chinese characteristics entering the new era, as well as celebrating the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up. The focus is on capturing stories of ordinary people who practice socialist core values.

Nine film and television professionals, including performing artist Xie Fang, director Wang Wenjie, and actor Huang Bo, are coming forward to help promote the competition, calling for guidance of values and positive energy.

The competition will invite two rounds of submissions, with Aug. 31 and Oct. 31 as the respective submission deadlines. Organizations or individuals can fill out applications by visiting the official website at http://www.cndfilm.com.
