On Feb. 1, publicity officials and professionals from 21 media organizations gathered at China Railway Corporation to launch a media campaign to report on grassroots stories during the upcoming Spring Festival holiday. This concentrated effort has been held annually over the years to report the country's progress on improving people's lives as they travel home during the busy commute season.

Tuo Zhen, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, addressed the gathering, emphasizing that media professionals should report on the improvement in people's lives and deliver positive messages from grassroots stories.

From February on, media organizations will feature special coverage of grassroots stories during the Spring Festival.
