China will expand public fitness facilities and support more grassroots sporting events during the 2026-2030 period, the General Administration of Sport of China said at a press conference on Thursday. By 2030, per capita sports venue space is expected to reach around 4 square meters, and the proportion of people who exercise regularly around 40%, while more than 5,000 small-scale sports facilities will be built or upgraded.
