China has built over 54,000 water conservancy projects in the Yellow River basin over the past 80 years, while advancing water conservancy infrastructure and the scientific development and utilization of water and hydropower resources.

These efforts have helped ease water shortages, improve fragile ecosystems, and put the basin on a path of high-quality development that prioritizes ecological protection and green growth, said a senior official of the Ministry of Water Resources on Friday.
