China has made a strong start to its agriculture and rural development for the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030), with grain output rising, targeted assistance gaining traction, and farmers' incomes continuing to grow. 

This progress is helping underpin overall economic stability while supporting more innovation-driven, higher-quality growth, said Zhang Zhu, minister of agriculture and rural affairs.
